1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [ALM Media LLC (exact registered name to be confirmed)], a company licensed by Sharjah Media City (Shams) free zone, United Arab Emirates. Its trade licence number is [TRADE LICENCE NUMBER] and its registered address is [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. In these terms that company is called "ALM", "we" or "us". The terms cover your use of ALM Talent, our talent database and casting platform at [talent.almano.media].
You accept these terms when you create an account, claim a profile, or apply to a casting through ALM Talent. Our talent privacy notice explains how we use your personal data. It forms part of how we work with you, but it is not a contract term.
If you buy Premium, the Premium terms also apply.
2. Who can join
You must:
- be 18 or older;
- be a real person, joining for yourself. Do not create a profile for someone else unless ALM has agreed to it in writing;
- give accurate, current information;
- keep only one account.
ALM may refuse or close an account at its discretion, for example if any of the above is not true.
3. Your account
- Signing in. You sign in with your email and password. We strongly recommend turning on two-step sign-in.
- Security. Keep your password private. Tell us at almano.media/contact if you think someone else has used your account.
- Responsibility. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it was caused by our fault.
4. Your profile
- Accuracy. When you submit your profile, you confirm that your details are accurate and your photos are recent and unfiltered. ALM may ask you to update photos that are older than 12 months.
- Keeping it current. We will remind you every 6 months to update your profile. A profile that is not updated for 12 months is marked "out of date". It is then hidden from the public site until you confirm it again.
- Approval. Your profile appears on the public showcase only if:
- you opt in, and
- an ALM Admin approves it.
ALM may approve it, ask you for changes, or decline to show it publicly, without giving reasons. Changing a public photo sends the profile back for approval. ALM may hide any profile from public view at any time.
- Team search. All profiles can be searched by the ALM team, including profiles that are not public.
5. Your photos, videos and other content
- Ownership. You keep ownership of everything you upload. That includes photos, videos, audio, your CV and text.
- Licence to ALM. You give ALM a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for as long as your content is on ALM Talent, to do the following:
- store, copy, resize and convert your content, and remove hidden location data from it;
- show it to the ALM team;
- share it with ALM's clients for castings: on shortlist links, comp cards, casting packages and, if your profile is in the eligible pool, to Special Client Access clients;
- show it on the public showcase, but only if you have given that consent;
- use it in ALM's own marketing (website, social media and presentation decks), but only if you have given that consent.
- Lasting photo release. If you withdraw a consent or delete your account, ALM will not start any new use of your content. Photos that ALM has already sent to clients, or already used in ALM marketing, may stay in use. ALM keeps a log of these uses, and you can see it on your Privacy & data page. [Lawyer: see note T2.]
- Your promises about your content. You confirm that:
- you are the person shown in your photos and videos, and every other person shown is an adult who has agreed to appear;
- you have the right to upload the content and to give ALM the licence above, including permission from the photographer or videographer where they own the copyright;
- your content is not unlawful, indecent, defamatory or misleading, and does not breach anyone else's rights.
- Removal. ALM may remove content that breaks these terms.
6. Castings and applications
- What applying means. Applying to a casting does not guarantee that you will be selected, booked or paid.
- Declarations. Each casting form shows casting declarations, for example on professionalism, non-confidentiality, no guarantee, liability and the obligation to sign a contract. Some castings add their own, such as "no transport allowance". You must read and tick each one before you can apply. Your ticks are saved with the date and the wording version.
- Sharing with the client. ALM may share your application with the client for that casting, and with the client's agency.
- If you are selected. You will be asked to sign a separate Talent Agreement Contract with ALM. That contract, not these terms, will set the fee, dates, usage and other booking conditions.
- Status updates. You can follow your application status in your account. You may receive result emails, unless the team switches them off for that casting.
- Withdrawing. You can edit or withdraw an application until the casting closes.
7. Messages from ALM
- Service emails. We send emails you need in order to use the service: sign-in codes, security alerts, application receipts and results.
- Casting alerts. We send casting alerts only if you opt in. You can choose instant alerts or a weekly round-up. You can unsubscribe in one click.
- No WhatsApp messages to you. ALM Talent does not send you one-to-one WhatsApp messages. Casting calls may be posted in WhatsApp groups that ALM team members belong to.
8. Fees
- Free account. Creating and keeping an ALM Talent account is free.
- Premium. Premium showcase costs **the price shown when online payment opens** and is optional. See the Premium terms.
- Booking fees. [How fees for bookings work, including whether ALM charges commission and who pays the talent, is set in the Talent Agreement Contract. Owner to confirm; see note T4.]
9. Rules you agree to follow
You must not:
- create fake or duplicate profiles, or pretend to be someone else;
- upload content you do not have the right to share;
- copy, scrape or collect other talents' data, or use anything you see on ALM Talent to contact talents or clients for reasons unrelated to castings;
- try to get round the platform's security or access limits, or test them without permission;
- harass, threaten or mislead anyone you meet through ALM;
- use ALM Talent for anything unlawful.
10. Suspending or closing accounts
- Suspension by ALM. ALM may suspend or close your account, or hide your profile, if you break these terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect other users. We will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
- Closing your own account. You can close your account at any time with "Delete my account" on the Privacy & data page. Your profile is hidden at once. Your data is erased within 30 days, and backup copies roll off within 90 days. A minimal booking record is kept for invoices, and the lasting photo release (section 5) still applies.
- Inactive accounts. An account that is inactive for 24 months is archived and we send a final warning. If you do not sign in within 30 days, it is deleted [proposed].
11. Our responsibility to you
- The service as it is. We provide ALM Talent "as is". We work to keep it available and secure, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
- No guarantee of work. We do not guarantee any casting, booking, income or visibility.
- Clients are separate. Clients are separate businesses. ALM is not responsible for how a client behaves, except where the Talent Agreement Contract or the law says otherwise.
- Limits on liability. [Liability cap and exclusions to be drafted by the lawyer under UAE law. See note T3.] Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Source code
Part of ALM Talent is open-source software under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. You can download its source code from the Source code link in the footer. That licence covers the software only. It gives no rights to your data, to other talents' data, or to ALM's name and logo.
13. Changes to these terms
- Notice. We may update these terms. We will show the new version with its date and tell you by email or when you next sign in.
- Bigger changes. If a change materially affects you, you will be asked to accept it before you continue. If you do not agree, you can close your account.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates [as applied in the Emirate of [SHARJAH / DUBAI]; the lawyer to choose the courts or arbitration].
